Operational Scenario of Scheduled Commercial Banks in the North-East and Rest of India

The present study has focused on the comparative scenario of the operational performance of scheduled commercial banks in India and the North-East in specific. To understand the operational performance of scheduled commercial banks various parameters taken in the study are number of offices and employees, CD ratio, per office&per employee deposit and credit, per capita deposit&credit for India and the North-East level. The overall analysis shows that the North-East region is much below the national level comparison which needs prompt attention to make the region forward in financial infrastructure in national perspective. For better comparison and easy understanding average figures of all the years, percentage changes and necessary charts are presented in the paper.Downloads
